General Services

The range of services we provide under contract to the NHS include:

  • Baby clinic
  • Cervical cytology
  • Child health surveillance
  • Contraceptive services
  • Disease management clinics
  • Immunisations

General Practitioners

Clinical interest at the Practice: Paediatrics, Geriatric and Gastroenterology.

Language and translation information: Clinicans are able to converse in the following languages French, Sinhalese, Arabic and Armenian. Translators can be sourced for other languages.

Practice Nursing Services

The Nurse is available by appointment only.

Her tasks include:

Please tell the receptionist if you are booking for travel vaccinations as there is a form to be completed before you are seen by the Nurse.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitor, is available by appointment only.

The clinic is held every Wednesday morning between 9.30am and 11am. The health Visitor performs routine baby checks and gives appropriate advice to mothers with new born babies.

District Nursing

The District Nurses offer care to the housebound patient.

Private Non-NHS Work

Medical Examinations (Non-NHS)

Certain services provided by the Doctors are not covered by the NHS and fees are payable for such items as:

  • HGV & PSV licences
  • Elderly driver licences       
  • Insurance
  • Pre-employment medicals
  • Private certificates          
  • Holiday vaccinations
  • Insurance claims           
  • Fitness for sports

Please ask the receptionist for such services. Charges are payable at the time of attendance, and the BMA recommended scale of fees is on display at the reception desk. For further information please see Why do GP’s charge?

Medical Certificates

Self-certificates are available from your employer for sickness of up to one week. Any certificate required from the Doctor for periods up to the first week can only be provided as a private certificate for which there is a charge.
